On October 4, 2012, Carter Conboy’s Michael Murphy was a featured speakersat the seminar “Dealing with the New York State Division of Human Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission”, held in conjunction with the Saratoga-Adirondack Job Service Employer Committee (JSEC) at Longfellow’s in Saratoga.
The seminar focused on employment laws and practices impacting all employers regardless of size or industry. Topics presented and discussed included what is the DHR and EEOC? What are protected classes of employees? What should you do and expect if you receive a complaint? How do you respond to requests for documents? What are your options? What are the potential ramifications? What are best practices to minimize your risk of receiving that complaint in the first place.
