Mike Catalfimo Speaks on Title Law


The National Business Institute (NBI) has invited Carter Conboy’s Michael J. Catalfimo to speak on issues related to Title Law at its upcoming two-day conference “Title Law: A-Z” to be held February 9 – 10, 2016 in Albany, New York.

Mr. Catalfimo will speak on issues related to Drafting Documents to Cure Defects, including a review of agreements, affidavits, licenses, easements, deeds, releases, satisfactions, discharge, cancellations, variances, remedial litigation, monetary settlements, and escrow agreements. In addition, he will speak on the subject of Quiet Title Actions, including procedures and strategies related to common law actions to quite title and statutory actions to determine claims to real property.

Michael J. Catalfimo is a shareholder and managing director at Carter Conboy, concentrating his practice in the fields of creditors' rights, business and property law and litigation, family law, and general civil litigation. He earned his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School and his B.A. degree, with all college honors, in government from Skidmore College. Mr. Catalfimo is active in numerous professional associations, including the American and New York State bar associations, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He chairs the Board of Directors of the American Legal and Financial Network, the nation's largest network of residential mortgage foreclosure attorneys, servicing agents and ancillary service providers; and sits on the Steering Committee of the American Law Firm Association's business litigation practice group. Mr. Catalfimo is a past-president of both the Washington County Bar Association and the Federation of Bar Associations of the Fourth Judicial District; and a former adjunct professor of business law at Skidmore College.
