Mackenzie C. Monaco Speaks on NLRB and Franchisor-Franchisee Relationships
By: Carter Conboy
Mackenzie C. Monaco recently spoke at a continuing legal education seminar presented by ALFA International, The Global Legal Network. The seminar Who’s the Boss? How the NLRB Decisions in Browning-Ferris and McDonald’s Impact the Future of the Franchisor-Franchisee Relationship was held in Santa Barbara, California on June 24, 2016.
The seminar centered on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) tests for determining joint employer status and the recent efforts by the NLRB and state agencies which could result in the expansion of “joint employment” status in a wide variety of industries. Ms. Monaco, together with a panel of seasoned litigators and claims executives from across the country, discussed the current status of the most critical NRLB cases, while evaluating exposure for franchisors and franchisees as joint employers, and steps for planning and managing the changes.
