Kathleen Baynes Obtains Case Dismissal from New York State Division of Human Rights

Attorney Kathleen McCaffrey Baynes obtained a favorable Determination and Order After Investigation from the New York State Division of Human Rights on behalf of a local provider of home healthcare staffing services.

The Complainant, a former supervisor employed by Mrs. Baynes’ client, filed a Complaint with the New York State Division of Human Rights alleging that the staffing services company unlawfully discriminated against her based upon her sex, and specifically, that she was dismissed from her job due to pregnancy, in violation of the N.Y. Exec. Law, Art. 15 (Human Rights Law).

After investigation by the Division of Human Rights it was found that there was no probable cause to believe that Mrs. Baynes’ client had engaged in or was engaging in the unlawful discriminatory practice as alleged and the Complaint was dismissed in its entirety.
