Norah Murphy is an experienced trial attorney, practicing primarily in the areas of municipal defense, personal injury and premises liability. During her 17 years as a litigator, Ms. Murphy has successfully defended clients at the trial and appellate levels of the New York State Courts. Prior to joining Carter Conboy as counsel, Ms. Murphy served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Albany, and as an Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Guilderland. In addition to continuing her practice as a defense litigator, Ms. Murphy maintains a general practice including real estate, land use, Article 81 proceedings, and trusts and estates.

Ms. Murphy received her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University in 1987. While at Albany Law School, she was a member of the National Trial Team, a finalist in the Senior Prize Trial Competition, and was awarded the Trustees Senior Prize Trial Award, Second Prize. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the State University at Cortland in 1985.

Ms. Murphy was admitted to the bars of New York State and the United States District Court, Northern District of New York in 1988, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 1998. She is a member of the Albany County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Ms. Murphy serves as a Master in the Albany Law School chapter of the American Inns of Court.
