Michael J. Murphy has an active trial practice in the civil rights, products liability, employment practices, commercial law and toxic torts. He has tried cases in State and Federal Courts throughout upstate New York. He has also counseled clients in matters related to risk management, governmental investigation and governmental relations.

Mr. Murphy is an active member of the New York State Bar Association (Trial Lawyers and Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section), the Albany County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute (Employment Law Committee), ALFA International (Treasurer, Member of the Board of Directors and Steering Committee, Labor and Employment Practices Group) and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. He is a Trustee and Vice President of the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association. He has lectured on topics related to trial of civil actions, employment law, employment practices, liability insurance and construction work-site litigation. He is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of New York.
