James Resila graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 1984, and from Fordham Law School in 1988. Upon his graduation from Fordham, Mr. Resila commenced a two year clerkship with the Hon. Con. G. Cholakis, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of New York.

Mr. Resila's practice has focused on the defense of municipalities in federal civil rights cases, medical malpractice and negligence defense.

Mr. Resila is admitted to the state bars of New York and Massachusetts, and the Federal bars of the United States Supreme Court, the Northern District of New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations. Mr. Resila is a mediator on the Northern District of New York's Mediation Panel and is a Barrister in Albany Law School's American Inns of Court.
