Alaina Laferriere is an alumna of the State University of New York at Albany. Following her graduation in 2004, she worked for a non-for-profit which served individuals with developmental disabilities, before entering law school.
While attending Albany Law School, Ms. Laferriere was an Associate Editor of the Albany Government Law Review and was employed by the Law School as an academic tutor. In addition, Ms. Laferriere served on the executive board of the Pro Bono Society, organizing and facilitating student participation in such projects as the Albany County Family Court Helpdesk, Pro-Se Divorce Clinic and Training, and Prisoner Legal Services.
Ms. Laferriere assisted in the representation of state agencies during her tenure in the New York State Office of the Attorney General Litigation Bureau and was employed in the legal department of a local municipality writing local laws and ordinances, defending claims against the municipality and prosecuting traffic infractions. Further, she completed an internship with the Albany Law School Clinic and Justice Center’s Health Law Clinic.
Ms. Laferriere practices primarily in the field of civil litigation representing municipalities, non-for-profit organizations, and professionals.
