James A. Resila graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 1984, and from Fordham Law School in 1988. Upon his graduation from Fordham, Mr. Resila commenced a two year clerkship with the Hon. Con. G. Cholakis, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of New York.

Mr. Resila's practice has focused on the defense of municipalities in federal civil rights cases, medical malpractice and negligence defense.

Mr. Resila is admitted to the state bars of New York and Massachusetts, and the Federal bars of the United States Supreme Court, the Northern, Southern and Western Districts of New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Albany County Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is a mediator on the Northern District of New York's Mediation Panel. Mr. Resila was also recognized as one of New York area’s Top Lawyers for 2008 for appeals in New York Magazine, was a 2008 selection to New York Area’s Top Lawyers and 2009 selection to Best Lawyers in America.
